自分の家族を英語で紹介してみよう！
日本人にはあまり馴染みのないことですが、外国人は初対面でも、自己紹介に加えて家族についての話をするのが普通です。
なので、いざそういう話題になった時に慌てないよう、英語で家族を紹介するためのフレーズを覚えておきたいところ。
自分の家族やルーツを堂々と紹介できるよう、あらかじめ練習しておきましょう！
家族を紹介するのに欠かせない英単語
まず、英語で家族や親戚を紹介する時によく使われる英単語をご紹介します。
・父／father（カジュアルな言い方ではdad、daddy、papaなど）
・母／mother（カジュアルな言い方ではmom、mammy、mamaなど）
「親」はparent、「両親」は複数形のparentsです。
また、「継父」はstep father、「継母」はstep motherとなります。
・義父／father in law
・義母／mother in law
・兄／elder brotherもしくはolder brother
・姉／elder sisterもしくはolder sister
・弟／younger brother
・妹／younger sister
「兄弟」はbrothers、「姉妹」はsisters、「兄妹」はolder brother and younger sister、「姉弟」はolder sister and younger brotherです。
・祖父／grandfather（カジュアルな言い方ではgrandpa）
・祖母／grandmother（カジュアルな言い方ではgrandma）
「曾祖父」はgreat-grandfather、「曾祖母」はgreat-grandmother、「曾祖父母」はgreat-grandparentです。
・息子／son（継子の場合はstep son）
・娘／daughter（継子の場合はstep daughter）
・孫／grandchild
「孫息子」はgrandson、「孫娘」はgranddaughterです。
・夫／husband（別れた夫はex-husband）
・妻／wife（別れた妻はex-wife）
「配偶者」はspouseもしくはpartnerです。
・一人っ子／only child
・二人兄弟／I have a sibling
（siblingは、男女関係なくきょうだいを表す言葉です）
・三人兄弟／I have two siblings
・双子／twin（三つ子はtriplets）
・赤ちゃん／baby
・子ども／child
（2人以上の場合はchildren。カジュアルな言い方ではkid、kidsなど）
「養子」はadapted childで、男の子なら「adapted son」、女の子なら「adapted daughter」です。
・親戚／relatives（複数形で表現します）

・いとこ／cousin（はとこはsecond cousin）
